PASSOVER MEAL
Our annual Holy Week Passover Meal will be held on the evening of Wednesday 31st March. This is a wonderful way of preparing for the celebration of Our Lord’s death and resurrection and helps us to understand the cultural background to the Last Supper. Tickets are now available at a cost of £10.00 each, seats are reserved with payment. Only 20 tickets left so please phone the parish office to avoid disappointment.
SURVIVE - MIVA APPEAL
There is an appeal this weekend for SURVIVE-MIVA, which is a Catholic Lay Association, founded in Liverpool, UK in 1974. It exists to provide transport to allow successful health, pastoral, educational and developmental work in developing countries.
A THRIVING CATHOLIC COMMUNITY
As a part of Bishop Peter’s vision Walking Humbly with Our God he is asking us what it means to be a thriving Catholic community. You will have noticed the display by the sacristy which outlines suggested marks of such a community. They are intended to help us reflect on the things we do well and the things we would aspire to do better. To help us reflect on this more deeply booklets are available from the table by the sacristy called ‘A Thriving Catholic Community.’ You are encouraged to get together with a few friends to discuss this material & feed back your thoughts via the Parish Office. There are post-it notes provided on the table for brief comments on what the Cathedral does well and what the Cathedral could do better. Once completed these comments can be attached to the display board. These will be collated and fed back to the Local Steering Group who are drawing up the groundplan for our Pastoral Area which will be presented to the Bishop at Pentecost.
MOTHERING SUNDAY
After each Mass this weekend you are invited to take a Daffodil for your mother in thanksgiving for motherhood. If you are not able to be with your mother please take one to remember her.
EMMAUS MEETING
The Lenten Emmaus Meeting is on Thursday 18th March at 10am and 7.30pm in the Sacristy. This month the focus is on the Bible, praying through one of the key Lenten gospel passages and seeing what it says to us about the season and our personal preparation for Easter. All are welcome. Sessions repeated morning & evening.
CONFIRMATION PROGRAMME
Please note: the retreat day is now on 24th April
10-4pm. Any queries please call the parish office.
HOLY WEEK & EASTER SCHEDULE
Please pick up a card detailing all Mass and service times for Holy Week & Easter for you & your family.
HOLY LAND REUNION
For those who went on the pilgrimage there will be a reunion on Monday 22nd March at 7.30pm after the evening Mass in the sacristy. Please bring any photographs you would like to share with others. Mark them clearly on the back so they don’t get mixed up. If you would like us to show any particular photos in the presentation please email them this week to office@northamptoncathedral.org
HOLY LAND FOR EVERYONE!
There will be an opportunity for everyone to share in the blessings of our recent pilgrimage to the Holy Land on Thursday 25th March at 7.30pm after the evening Mass. A presentation will be given in the Cathedral including a simple liturgy during which will be sprinkled with water from the River Jordan and anointed with blessed oil from Galilee. All welcome.
OFFERTORY ENVELOPES & GIFT AID
Offertory envelopes will be available after all Masses NEXT WEEKEND 20/21st March for regular giving. An alternative way that may be more convenient for you for regular giving is by standing order. Forms for this will be available over the same weekend. The main benefit of joining this scheme is that if you are a tax payer the parish can claim extra money for every £1 you donate by this method, at no extra cost to yourself. All you need to do is sign a gift aid form. If you are currently giving by envelope and are not sure if you have signed a gift aid form please contact the Parish Office.
LONDON MARATHON – HCPT
On 25th April John Bonner will run the London Marathon to raise funds for the Cathedral HCPT. If you would like to sponsor him please go to the Just Giving website: www.justgiving.com/John-Bonner more information next week.
